Hi great people. As I watched the video above, I could not help relating it to how some humans behave. Do you know that some humans have something known as a monkey mindset? Now you know.
I recently shared a hilarious video of monkeys feasting on a three-tier cake. As I mentioned in the post, I get to see monkeys a lot because I live near a national park. Monkeys and their behavior really fascinate me.
Today, I want to share with you about the monkey mindset and why you should be cautious of such a mindset.
What Is The Monkey Mindset In Humans?
Like all creatures, monkeys have some positive and negative traits.
The monkey mindset in humans concentrates on the negative traits of monkeys. Unfortunately, some humans have some of these negative traits of monkeys, thus the monkey mindset.
Here’s what the monkey mindset in humans may look like:
Excessively gluttonous (greedy) behavior
When you look at the above video, the monkey is outright gluttonous (greedy). It wants to grab and devour everything it can lay its hands on. It looks like it can’t have enough of anything. It’s insatiable.
Interestingly, some humans have this excessively gluttonous, greedy mindset. They want to grab and devour everything they can lay their hands on (just like the monkey is doing).
Excessive greedy behavior is also when someone is always hungry to grab more and more without appreciating what they already have.
Excessively greedy people can do anything to acquire more and more. For instance, they can grab, steal, be corrupted, or even kill to get what they want. They are unquenchable.
Do you have a greedy mindset? Take care! You could spend all your life trying to grab more and more. In the process, your life on earth could end before you enjoy it. What a wasted life that would be?
So, stop unchecked greed! It’s not good for you and for the world.
Restless behavior
Another characteristic of the monkey mindset in humans is restless behavior. Do you see how monkeys leap from one tree to another or from one place to the other? They do so because their minds are restless. They can’t stay in one place for more than a few minutes.
Interestingly, the minds of some humans are like that – restless. The person is unable to stay focused or remain still for long. They seek new distractions and adventures constantly.
The problem with a restless mind is that it can affect your life negatively in various ways. For instance, a restless mind can affect your creativity, professional productivity, relationships, and overall well-being.
So, try to avoid that monkey mindset of restlessness. It’s harmful to you.
Fortunately, there are things you can do to prevent the monkey mindset of restlessness. Things to calm your mind. Some of the things you could do include:
- Regular exercise
- Quality sleep
- Meditation
- Yoga
Impulsive Behavior
Monkeys usually make impulsive/quick decisions. This means they sometimes act without thinking thoroughly about something.
Some of the impulsive decisions they make may not be in their best interest in the long run.
Unfortunately, some humans have an impulsive monkey mindset. They act on impulse. The impulsive/quick decisions they make could have negative outcomes.
So, it’s best to think carefully before making a decision. Impulsive behavior could ruin you.
Immediate Gratification
When monkeys grab food or things mindlessly, they are often seeking immediate gratification. For instance, they don’t think of the consequences of eating all the food in one sitting.
The consequences could include not having food for the next meal. They eat all the food because they prefer immediate gratification.
The same applies to some humans. Some have the monkey mindset of immediate gratification. They lack self-control. They want something now!
The problem with an immediate gratification mindset is that it can lead to hasty decisions you could regret later.
So, think before you leap lest you regret your actions.
Monkey business mindset
I’m sure you’ve heard of the term “monkey business.” You see, monkeys sometimes tend to be mischievous, cunning, sly, unpredictable, etc. In other words, monkeys can manipulate a situation to their advantage.
Interestingly, some humans have the monkey business mindset. Such people cannot be trusted because they are full of mischief and are cunning and unpredictable.
You can’t trust them because you’ll always suspect them of engaging in deceitful and underhand business behind your back. They can slyly manipulate a situation to their advantage (monkey business).
Conclusion
There you have it! A Monkey mindset is not good for you or for society. Be mindful and do things in moderation for your own good and for the good of others. Cheers!
