Hi good people. I recently shared a post about the red flags you should not ignore when online dating. I feel the post would be incomplete if I didn’t give you tips on how to ensure your safety when meeting your online crush for the first time. Now, suppose you meet someone online, develop some chemistry, and don’t observe the red flags I talked about? In that case, you may both want to meet physically. Meeting physically can help both of you decide if you want to take the relationship to another level. If you decide to meet physically, all will likely go…

This week, I have come across two different incidents of young women who were killed by people they met online. This kind of news scares me to death. My family and I spent New Year’s Eve in a quiet and serene neighborhood away from the hassle and bustle of the city. To my amazement, when the clock struck midnight, the quiet and serene neighborhood came alive. The sky was lit with spectacular fireworks and the intriguing sounds that accompanied them. To say that I love fireworks is an understatement. What a great way to start the New Year! Here is a video my daughter captured of the spectacular fireworks. As usual, I received numerous Happy New Year messages from family, friends, and readers. I also sent out Happy…

Yesterday, as I was busy doing my daily weekend chores, I heard a commotion outside. It sounded like people were screaming and shouting. I ran upstairs to one of the bedrooms facing the road and looked through the window. The commotion was between my neighbor’s house manager and another woman. My first instinct was to call my good neighbor and tell her people were fighting in her compound. However, I realized that it wasn’t wise to call my good neighbor. She was away on vacation with her family outside the country. Since we’re very good neighbors, she came to my house before she…

November 25th is a special day for me; it’s my birthday. While growing up, my parents made me feel special on my birthday. They didn’t always throw bashes for me, but my mom always prepared a special treat for the family. The treat would be followed by prayers of thanksgiving.    I still remember my 21st birthday with nostalgia. My dad said he’d throw the biggest birthday party for me. He said that was the last birthday party he was throwing for me, so he wanted it to be special and memorable.    To make a long story short, my…

About 10 years ago, some of my teaching colleagues and I formed a group. We are seven women now living in different parts of the country. We save money monthly, then meet in December annually to reconnect and bond. Sadly, we’re not meeting this year because of the tough economic times.During our annual get-together, we carry out a fun activity such as a hiking trip, road trip, a themed party, etc. We start planning the activity as early as June of every year. We pay for the activity using the monthly savings. We’re not meeting this year because we haven’t…

Do you know that the clothes you wear say a lot about you? Now you know. When someone looks at the way you’re dressed, they can tell to some extent the kind of person you are. Although your dressing can’t give an accurate picture of your personality, it conveys plenty of information about you.You see, we are all different, and one of the ways we express our differences is through our dressing. For instance, during the weekend, my sister Sarah and I were walking outside a shop when we saw some nice-looking jeans. We entered the shop and bought a…

I recently attended a family function where I met many of my beloved relatives I had not seen for years. As I talked to one of my cousins, she told me she’d given up on finding love. She’s 45 years old, has never been married, and has no child. My heart went out to her because I believe in love and that you can find love at any stage of your life.I tried to find out from my cousin why she’d given up on finding love. She said that men are not interested in her, so, she’s not met anyone.…

Last Sunday, I visited my 80-year-old paternal aunt. I had not seen her for over a year. We were so happy to see each other that we couldn’t help crying. My aunt is aging quite gracefully thanks to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They do their best to take care of their elderly parent. Apparently, my aunt like many other elderly people has health issues including high blood pressure and backache. She also doesn’t like eating nutritious food. She prefers sweet, unhealthy stuff such as cakes, biscuits, and lots of sugar in her tea, etc. She is also always cold and thus…
